Shadowless cards have the same design as the Japanese version's old back design.
Other early overseas cards also have the same design as the old back design.

Normally, there is a shadow on the right side of the illustration frame, but only in English, there was no shadow in the early editions.
Cards without shadows on the picture frame are called "Shadowless Cards," and they are a specification only seen in the early shipments of the English card release, so the rate is set slightly higher than normal cards.
(It seems to be like the no rarity mark cards in the Japanese version.)

A quick way to tell is to check if the year "99" is in front of the Nintendo logo at the bottom.
(The "99" notation indicates Shadowless)
