"Flicks: How the Movies Began" is a pop-up/Interactive book by Arnold Schwartzman. This beautiful commemorative book was given out at the 73rd Academy Awards Governor's Ball on March 25, 2001. Limited number printed. Paper engineering by Tor Lokvig.

Schwartzman was a frequent collaborator with Saul Bass and it shows in this incredible book.

Amazing design, featuring pop-ups, sliding assemblies, and an elastic band which serve to articulate the early technology of motion pictures.

Measures 8.5"x8.5".

There is one mark on the spine corner and another on the spine. Both pictured. No other noticeable marks or defects.
