Initially, as the leather bag workshop "Ushiya," we focused on cowhide, considering durability, texture, and a sense of luxury. However, leather also has the disadvantage that "its function and appeal can be lost depending on how it's handled."
Therefore, we decided to search again for a material that matches our "bag-making concept." That's when we encountered "cotton canvas" for materials.
Canvas overcomes the disadvantages of leather as it is "light and can withstand getting wet or being rubbed." Also, because it is a natural material, washing or rubbing it creates a unique atmosphere, like a pair of distressed jeans.
