Thank you for viewing.

In 1934, during his fifth year of junior high school, he made his third appearance at Koshien with Kyoto Commercial High School, leaving a brilliant record. He participated in the 1934 Japan-America Baseball series along with middle school student (Victor Starffin), and after performing well in two trips to the United States (he gained fame in the US as "Schoolboy Sawamura"), he dropped out of Kyoto Commercial High School and joined the Greater Japan Tokyo Baseball Club (now the Yomiuri Giants) in 1937. He achieved the first championship, the first MVP, and three perfect games, but after being drafted into the military, he injured his shoulder and left the team. He was killed in action during his second deployment. There were no menko (card-like game pieces) from before the war. Currently, there is only one menko from the "Star of the Giants" series by Noboru Kawasaki. This is an auction of such a menko & card.
