The House of Love is a British rock band formed in 1986, centered around Guy Chadwick. They disbanded in 1993 but reformed in 2005. The CD Journal electronic edition, in an article reporting on the reunion, introduced the band as having "vocals tinged with sorrow and guitars that sometimes become psychedelic."

Genre: Rock
Style: Indie Rock
At a time considered the next generation after The Smiths and Echo & the Bunnymen, they released several singles and a compilation album in Germany before making their album debut with "The House of Love" from Creation Records in 1988.
The recording reportedly took only a week.
This debut album reached number one on the indie charts and was highly praised by the famous DJ John Peel. The single "Christine" gives a somewhat similar impression to The Jesus and Mary Chain, who were on the same label. Instead of guitar noise, there's a hazy, beautiful chorus – perhaps some will understand what I mean?
A rare domestic edition of such a masterpiece.
