VTG 1950s Anchor Hocking Anchorwhite Milk Glass Clam Shell Ashtray VIP Base 7"

The top believed to have been made by Anchor Hocking, features a clam shell shape with an ornate goldtone metal base that has an embossed "VIP" mark. The milk glass top adds a touch of elegance and is supported by the sturdy metal base. I was able to locate newspaper advertisements throughout the latter 1940s and into the 1950s for "Milk Glass Shell Ashtrays", though none had images of the actual piece. Identified the top through Replacements, but does not appear in any of the Anchor Hocking Books and Catalogs. Measuring 6.8 inches in length, 6.2 inches in width, and 2.2 inches in height, this ashtray is a great addition to any collection.
